What actually happens between two appointments

The workflow the site describes has four steps and no surprises. A clinician configures the protocol: which validated instruments to use, and how often to run a scoring round. The patient gets a link by text or email and fills out the questionnaire in a browser, which the site puts at roughly 90 seconds. Scores are charted automatically, with a dose timeline overlaid so prescription changes sit next to the curve instead of in somebody's memory. Then a one page pre visit summary is generated ahead of the appointment.

Two details do most of the practical work. The first is the reminder policy: one single follow up goes out 48 hours after a missed round, at an hour the clinic chooses, and that is it. Nobody gets nagged into resenting the clinic. The second is the safety flag list, which the site says covers bleeding, headaches, calf pain and breast changes, so those answers surface instead of sitting quietly in a row of numbers. Patient messaging is bilingual, English and Spanish.

The site also publishes a median completion rate of 81 percent across its practices. Treat that the way you treat any number a company publishes about its own users: it is their measurement, not an independent one.

Pricing, printed on the page

PauseNotes publishes its prices, which spares everyone the ritual of booking a call to learn a number. Solo Clinician is $59 a month for one prescriber with unlimited patients. Clinic is $129 a month for up to five clinicians plus front desk staff. Group Practice is $269 a month for up to twenty clinicians across multiple sites.

The billing model is the interesting part: priced per clinician, never per patient, with no setup fee, no annual contract and no per patient charge. A panel that grows does not change the bill, which removes the usual incentive to be stingy about who gets enrolled. Plans are billed monthly and cancellable from the account screen. On the way out, the full history exports as CSV and as per patient PDF summaries, and the account is held read only for 30 days before deletion. The sales motion is a 30 minute demo, described on the site as having no slide deck.

The list of things it refuses to be

The site is unusually direct about its own edges: it is not your chart, your billing or your inbox. It writes nothing back into the electronic health record without you, holds no claims, and messages patients about nothing except the scoring round, so it does not become a second channel staff have to check for clinical messages. Also excluded: prescribing and e-prescribing, any patient chat channel, advertising trackers, and clinical advice.

That last one matters most. PauseNotes collects numbers and draws them; it does not read them for you. The site states plainly that clinical advice is not part of the product, so every decision that follows a chart belongs to the clinician, and a symptom score is an input to a consultation rather than a replacement for one.

On the data side, the site says responses are encrypted in transit and at rest in United States data centers, a business associate agreement is signed before the first patient link goes out, access is role scoped (front desk users see completion status only), and audit logs record every view, export and deletion.

Who the site says it is for, and what the listing means

PauseNotes names its own good fit and bad fit, which is rarer than it should be. Good fit: a menopause or midlife practice with a defined titration protocol and follow up intervals of six weeks or longer, where there is genuinely a gap between visits worth filling with data. Bad fit, in its own words: a single visit consult service with no follow up, or a practice that wants a full patient portal with messaging and billing. If your patients need to message you, this is not that tool, on purpose.

For exports, the site names direct paths to Elation, Athenahealth and Charm, formatted text blocks for everything else, plus CSV downloads. And on the leaderboard question: the listing on premierdelaclasse.lol tells you that a bid was placed and that PauseNotes holds the spot that bid pays for. It tells you nothing about whether a six week titration protocol matches how your clinic runs. That part is still your call, and the 30 minute demo is a cheaper way to find out than a ranking anyone can buy.
