What the software actually does

Six capabilities, in the site's own vocabulary: a seat ledger per cohort, a hot seat rotation that stays fair, accountability check ins, dunning that sounds like you, attendance history you can defend, and co facilitator access with role restrictions.

In practice that means the rotation is generated for the full term rather than rebuilt every month, and it skips members who have flagged travel. Check in forms go out two days before a session, so people arrive having written down what they said they would do. Failed charges surface on the dashboard with a one click retry and prewritten member notes, which is the polite version of the message nobody enjoys typing.

Attendance is marked in one tap and stored with reasons, and members can see their own hot seat date and last month's commitment. None of this is clever. All of it is the part facilitators quietly do at 11pm.

Setting up a cohort

The workflow is four steps, and the site does not pretend otherwise. Open the table and set the seats: name the cohort, choose the seat count, the monthly price and the billing day, then import members by CSV or add them by hand.

Let billing run on your merchant account. This is the important structural detail: MastermindSeats does not collect your members' money. Recurring charges process through your own merchant account on the day you picked, and the platform states it takes no percentage of your seat revenue.

Set the rotation and the check in, then facilitate and review the record afterward. The pitch is not that facilitation gets easier, it is that the paperwork around facilitation stops living in four places.

Pricing, scope and what it is not

Three published plans, all billed monthly. One Cohort is $39 a month for a single active room. Two Cohorts is $89 a month for two rooms with independent billing. Coaching Business is $189 a month for unlimited cohorts and up to five facilitators. The site is explicit that pricing is per cohort and never per member, with no setup fee, no annual commitment and no cut of seat revenue.

The stated scope is narrow on purpose. It is built for paid cohorts, and the site describes rooms of roughly ten to sixteen members. Data is stored in US regions. It is not a course platform, not a community app and not a payment processor, and a free peer group with no billing day would be paying for machinery it never switches on.

About the numbers on both pages

MastermindSeats publishes its own performance figures: a seat collection rate of 97.4 percent, about six hours of monthly admin recovered, a renewal lift of 18 points, 89 percent check in completion and an average of $1,164 recovered per cohort per year once failed charges are surfaced quickly. Those are the vendor's numbers, published by the vendor. Read them as a claim rather than a guarantee, and ask how they were measured before you quote them to anyone.

The leaderboard verifies none of that, because the leaderboard verifies exactly one thing: that a payment was made. It is satire about paid visibility, and it is honest about being satire. Judge the product on its pricing page, its own documentation and whether your cohort survives contact with it.
